Milk in Schools Scheme

There are two types of straws provided for the milk in schools scheme.

The traditional 17cm blue straw , which is used predominantly for the third pint bottles. Attractively packaged in handy classroom size boxes of 1000 straws per box. These straws are detectable by the dairy cleaning scanners should a child push the straw into the bottle. These straws come packaged in a strong outer carton containing 50 inner boxes.

A 13cm red straw with one pointed end which is used with third pint cartons of milk. Again these are packaged in boxes of 1000 for easy classroom use.

The advantage of these straws over ones hot glued to the side of the carton are that:

  • They use less materials therefore create less disposable waste.
  • There is no need to employ specialist machinery during the filling process, therefore eliminating the possibilities of a breakdown.
  • Easy enough for the rounds man to deliver along with the milk.
  • Easy for the teacher to pass out, rather than help the children unwrap a number of straws individually.
Our straws are tested for use with food contact. Click here for details.
